Coinciding with the anniversary of Nathaniel Lindley’s birth and the central role he played in revolutionising law reporting, ICLR has launched a new way for anyone to access case law – become a Registered User. Lindley’s work helped to systematise and organise law reporting for all interested parties, and ICLR have continued to invest in improving the accessibility of case law.

Registered user access – launching 28th November 2025

As a registered user, you will have access to three law reports, three case information pages and three Case Genie searches every 30 days. You will be able to download the results as a PDF and results will be saved for a period of six months.

To become a registered user, you will be asked to fill out a form with a small amount of personal data and then you will have immediate access to the vast corpus of law reports and case information available on ICLR Online.

Case Genie allows you to upload any document and it will compare the text against our database and recommend cases that it thinks are similar in content. It can also cross reference against our database for any citations, and so, if you have an AI generated piece of text and want to check the citations, Case Genie can give you a list of references it thinks could be false.

ICLR will continue to offer trials for new users for up to seven days, but these are only available to legal practitioners.

In return for having the free registered user access, you agree to receiving sporadic updates about ICLR (you can unsubscribe at any time, which will not affect your access as a registered user). You will also be signed up to the weekly case law update – a free email that gives you all the latest reported cases across 14 different legal topics.
